NOC/CGA SLE Pays Courtesy Visit to Newly Appointed NSA Boss

The National Olympic Committee/Commonwealth Games Association Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA SLE), led by its President, Prince Vandy Sualley, today paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Executive Director of the National Sports Authority Sierra Leone (NSA), Alphaka Conteh Esq.

Welcoming the new Executive Director, Prince Sualley underscored the humility and openness demonstrated by Mr. Conteh following an earlier telephone conversation, noting that the road ahead points to a glorious beginning for sports administration in Sierra Leone.

Members of the delegation and directors present also reflected on their previous engagements with the Executive Director, highlighting his passion, professionalism, and commitment toward ensuring a successful tenure at the helm of the NSA.

Responding to the delegation, Alphaka Conteh Esq. expressed profound appreciation to the NOC/CGA SLE leadership for the visit and commended the institution for its demonstrated leadership and contributions to sports development in Sierra Leone.

The Executive Director reaffirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with all stakeholders in fulfilling the vision and directives of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio. He emphasized that his role is fundamentally one of coordination and accountability to the NSA Board and the Minister of Sports, who provides political leadership and oversight to the Authority.

Mr. Conteh further praised the vision and leadership of the NOC Secretary General, noting that the strategic ideas advanced by the NOC now serve as a blueprint for sports governance and management in Sierra Leone. He also expressed appreciation for the foresight behind the establishment of the National Sports Authority and acknowledged the role it continues to play in strengthening sports administration nationwide.

The Executive Director particularly commended Prince Vandy Sualley for his courage, leadership, and for leading the first sports institution to officially pay him a courtesy call since his appointment. He assured the NOC/CGA SLE leadership of his unwavering commitment to teamwork, partnership, and cooperation with the Olympic movement and all sporting disciplines across the country.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Executive Director of the NSA and attended by senior directors of the Authority, as well as the NOC/CGA SLE Treasurer, Mr. Unisa Deen Kargbo.
