Alimamy John Conteh was on Monday, 12 October 2026, committed to the High Court of Sierra Leone by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah on one count of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, Conteh, on a date between 1 and 28 February 2026, at No. 12 Main Motor Road, Congo Town, Freetown, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use and benefit a silver-coloured Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition vehicle, with registration number ARI 247, valued at Ten Thousand United States Dollars ($10,000), equivalent to Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Leones (NLe 240,000).

The vehicle was reportedly entrusted to him by Dennis Sylvester Davis for the purpose of repairs.

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken.

In his ruling, Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah held that sufficient evidence had been presented to warrant the matter being committed to the High Court for trial. He therefore committed Conteh to stand trial before the High Court of Sierra Leone and ordered that he be remanded in custody.

Detective Police Constable 17649 Kargbo I is prosecuting the matter.
