Two men have been committed to the High Court for trial on three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, store breaking and larceny by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown.

The accused, 24-year-old Mohamed Kamara and 34-year-old Philip Wilson, made their appearance before the court over allegations that they committed the offences on June 10, 2026, at Meheux Street, Guinea Store, Freetown.

According to the charge sheet, Count One alleged that the defendants conspired with another person, whose identity remains unknown, to commit a felony, to wit, store breaking and larceny.

Count Two alleged that the defendants, with intent to steal, broke and entered the store belonging to Isata Kamara and stole 300 dozen headbands, valued at Le800 per dozen, amounting to Le240, 000.

The charge sheet further stated that 150 packets of shower caps, valued at Le50 per packet, were also allegedly stolen, bringing the total value of the items to Le251, 250.

Count Three alleged that the defendants, with intent to steal, broke and entered a store and stole one bale of cold caps containing 300 dozen, valued at Le300 per dozen, amounting to Le90, 000.

In his committal ruling, Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah stated that the evidence presented by the prosecution was sufficient to warrant the defendants standing trial at the High Court. He accordingly committed both defendants to the High Court for trial.

Inspector Taylor prosecuted the matter.

Both defendants were remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
