The leading flagbearer aspirant of the All People’s Congress (APC), Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has officially launched the disbursement of a Le 1.5 billion investment aimed at supporting women, farmers, and students in Kailahun District in Luawa Chiefdom, Kailahun District on April 12, 2026.
Jagaban initially announced the initiative during his visit to the district on March 24, 2026. The fund includes Le 1 billion allocated to women in business, Le 300 million to farmers, and Le 200 million for student scholarships. The disbursement, launched on Saturday, April 11, 2026, falls under the J-IMPACT Initiatives, which seek to empower beneficiaries, boost economic activities, improve livelihoods, and support students in continuing their education.
The APC Eastern Regional Chairman, Hon. Maya Moiwo Kaikai, welcomed Jagaban and his entourage, describing the occasion as a significant fulfillment of his promise to the people of Kailahun. He noted that Jagaban possesses the leadership qualities and capacity needed to lead the APC to victory in the 2026 elections and beyond.
Similarly, the APC Kailahun District Chairman, Mr. Ensah Jajua, expressed appreciation on behalf of party executives, affiliate groups, and supporters, warmly welcoming Jagaban and his team to the district.
In his keynote address, Jagaban thanked the people for the warm reception accorded to him and emphasized the importance of the initiative in supporting businesswomen, farmers, and students. He stressed that young people are the future of Sierra Leone and called on residents of the South-East to take decisive action toward building a safer and better country.
He further stated that his visit was not only political but also personal, describing himself as a brother and uncle to the people of the South-East and the nation. He reaffirmed his ambition to lead the APC to victory in the 2028 elections, asserting that the party remains inclusive and accommodating to all Sierra Leoneans without discrimination.
Addressing the education sector, Jagaban raised concerns about the lack of respect for teachers and the poor state of academic institutions. He highlighted that many teachers have served for years without being placed on the government payroll.
He assured that, if elected in 2028, his administration would prioritize the timely payment of teachers’ salaries and strengthen the education system, emphasizing that education is key to national development and individual success.
The announcement and launch of the Le 1.5 billion fund were met with loud cheers from residents of Kailahun, who commended Jagaban for his continued support and commitment to their community.
