Mohamed Moriba, a politician, former military officer, and Southern Province Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the All People’s Congress (APC), has appeared again before Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on a charge of incitement contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday, 27th December 2025, at Kamalo Village in the Karina Judicial District, North-East Province, the defendant allegedly created and circulated an audio and video clip containing inciting messages intended to cause mayhem, disorder, chaos, and unrest in the country. The content was reportedly published on a TikTok account named “Salone Gossip Hub.”
No plea was taken after the charge was read and explained to the defendant, as the matter is at committal proceedings stage.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dilia Wellington Esq., led prosecution witness number four, DPC I.D. 14345 Mohamed Conteh, attached to the Exhibit Office at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters in Freetown.
The witness recalled that on 22nd January 2026, while on duty at the said office, DPC 17886 Kamara A. handed over to him a pen drive containing electronic evidence related to the matter, to be tendered as an exhibit.
During cross-examination by defence counsel A.A. Bangura Esq., the witness was asked whether he knew the contents of the pen drive. He responded that he did not know and could not recall taking any detailed record of the device.
The defence counsel then challenged the reliability of the exhibit handling process.
Counsel for the defence renewed and adopted his previous bail application on behalf of the defendant. However, Magistrate Fornah refused bail on the grounds that the offence is serious in nature. He consequently remanded the defendant to the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.
The matter was adjourned to 20th May 2026.
