Sierra Leone’s Emma Kamara smashed century on Sunday in Police’ 137-run win against Murray Town in the ongoing CSL’s Women’s Cricket Premier League.
The Murray Town winner is her second 100 hits in three months after posting the equivalent against Mozambique in the Rwanda ICC Under-19 Women’s Qualifier.
On Sunday, Kamara’s Police side registered 180 runs for no wicket in 15 overs to beat Murray Town by 137. The latter got tamed for 43, losing six in 15.
The centenarian led the charge for clinical 106 runs off 50 balls. She smacked sixteen 4s with spectacular strokes for 212.00 strike rate.
That is hardly all; the 17-year-old is carving a West African title, her name in the prized centenarian list for selected legends.
Starting her cricketing career at 13, Emma Kamara has played for Kent Cricket Club, Correctional Females, and now her Police side.
On the continent, she has made an appearance in three competitive ICC tournaments as a key match-holder, forging her country’s path to enviable gains.
To win games, Kamara says she needs to adopt the stay-focused mentality. “I play it easily,” she adds.
As cricketers marvel at her new win, the West African centenarian calls it an inspiration to do more.
