Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown has issued a bench warrant against Anthony Murray for failing to appear in court in a case involving allegations of obtaining goods by false pretences.
Murray is facing two counts of obtaining property by false pretences, contrary to Section 32(c) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, Murray allegedly obtained property from Musa Koroma by falsely representing that he had a parcel of land at Baoma Village, along the Waterloo–Tombo Highway, for sale, with intent to defraud.
The charge sheet states that the alleged offence occurred on a date unknown between December 1 and December 31, 2024, at Fungi Building, Brookfields, Freetown.
In a separate count, Murray is also alleged to have obtained a black Suzuki motorbike valued at US$1,000 from Koroma between May 1 and May 31, 2025, at No. 22 Blackhall Road, Freetown, through the alleged false representation.
Following Murray’s failure to appear in court, Magistrate Fornah ordered the issuance of a bench warrant against him.
The matter was adjourned to October 29, 2026.
