Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Sylvester M. N. Koroma, Regional Police Commander for Freetown West, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, donated free internet facilities to the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Media Team to support and enhance the operations of the SLP Online Television platform.
The donation forms part of ongoing efforts to support the vision of the Inspector General of Police in strengthening effective communication systems within the Sierra Leone Police.
Speaking on the initiative, AIG Koroma described the establishment of the SLP Online TV platform as a progressive development that will not only improve police-public engagement but also expand the reach and coverage of the SLP Community Peace Radio 91.1 FM.
He further emphasized that improved internet connectivity would enhance the timely dissemination of information, promote transparency, and support the media team in delivering accurate and reliable updates on policing activities across the country.
According to AIG Koroma, effective communication remains a critical component of modern policing, noting that digital platforms play a key role in building public trust and improving community relations.
The gesture was warmly welcomed by members of the SLP Media Team, who described the support as a major boost to the institution’s ongoing digital communication and media outreach efforts.
