President Xi Jinping has called on the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese people to remain confident, focused and committed to advancing the country’s national rejuvenation.
Xi said the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is “unstoppable,” stressing that continued confidence, clear goals and steady progress would contribute to the country’s long-term development.
He made the remarks while highlighting what he described as the achievements of the CPC over the past 77 years, particularly rapid economic growth and sustained social stability.
“We take immense pride in the extraordinary achievements of New China and have full confidence in the bright prospects of Chinese modernization,” Xi said.
He noted that China’s economy has continued to develop since the beginning of the year despite mounting pressures, with progress in innovation-driven and high-quality development.
Xi called for efforts to sustain the momentum by promoting sound economic growth, advancing innovation and taking practical measures to improve people’s livelihoods. He also urged authorities to meet the targets and tasks set for the year to ensure a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan, covering 2026 to 2030.
On Hong Kong and Macao, Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to the “One Country, Two Systems” principle, under which Hong Kong and Macao administer their respective affairs while enjoying a high degree of autonomy.
He said the central government would continue supporting both regions in integrating into China’s overall development while safeguarding their long-term prosperity and stability.
Regarding Taiwan, Xi called for deeper exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait. He also reiterated China’s opposition to separatist activities seeking “Taiwan independence” and to what he described as external interference, while calling for the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and national reunification.
On foreign policy, Xi said China would maintain its independent foreign policy of peace, advance the implementation of its four major global initiatives and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
He said these efforts would contribute greater certainty and positive momentum to a turbulent world.
