Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, has commended the progress and quality of construction work on the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA)-supported infrastructure project at Magburaka Boys School, describing it as one of the biggest infrastructure investments in the institution’s history.

The Vice President made this statement during an inspection visit to the school as part of his continued tour of educational infrastructure projects funded by BADEA.

During the visit, Dr. Jalloh assessed ongoing construction works on several facilities designed to improve the school’s learning and residential environment.

The project comprises an administrative building, a 45-room dormitory, a 15-classroom block, staff quarters and a multipurpose building. The contractor also presented plans for a modern auditorium with a seating capacity of more than 500 people, which is expected to become a major addition to the institution’s facilities.

Commending the project team, the Vice President expressed satisfaction with the standard of construction and progress achieved, while acknowledging the slower pace of implementation.

He emphasised the need to maintain the quality of work and ensure that all facilities are completed to the required standards, noting the importance of delivering durable infrastructure that will serve generations of students and staff.

The BADEA-supported project represents a significant investment in educational infrastructure at Magburaka Boys School, with the facilities expected to enhance teaching, learning, administration and students’ accommodation.

The Vice President’s inspection forms part of the Government’s commitment to monitoring the implementation of development projects, ensuring accountability in project delivery and translating public investments into improved educational facilities and better learning conditions.
