Two Men Remanded After Pleading Guilty to Alleged Larceny

Two men, Sheriff Freeman, a 22-year-old tiller, and Ibrahim Kuyateh, a 27-year-old waiter, have been remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny.

The matter was heard before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1. The defendants are standing trial on two counts: conspiracy to commit a felony, contrary to law, and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Friday, 17 April 2026, at We Yone Street, Juba Hill in the Western Area of Freetown, the two accused allegedly conspired together with other persons unknown to commit larceny.

Count two further states that on the same date and at the same location, both defendants allegedly stole ten granite white plastic folding tables, with a total value of Le 20,000, property of Dr. Andrew Bamuse.

When the charges were read and explained to them, both defendants pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the nature of the offence, and ordered that both accused be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown for records and sentencing.

The matter was adjourned to 8 May 2026 for sentencing.
