The AYV Cypher Uncensored continues to stand as the premier rap platform in Sierra Leone and the Mano River region, bringing together top-tier hip-hop talent from across West Africa. The latest edition of this exciting competition, the Westcoast Rap Battle, showcased the raw energy and lyrical prowess of emerging artists.
With a vision set by the CEO, President, and Founder of Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire, the Westcoast Rap Battle is designed to highlight and elevate the region’s finest rap talent. The competition brings together rappers from Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia in a high-stakes contest where only the best can emerge victorious.
Last night, Liberia hosted the grand finale of the national segment, which culminated in an unforgettable lyrical showdown. Rising star rapper Sweezy emerged as the champion, earning the coveted title. His victory guarantees him a spot to represent Liberia on the international stage at the Westcoast Battle, alongside the competition’s runners-up, further boosting the country’s presence in the rap scene.
The grand finale was nothing short of a spectacle, with an electric atmosphere that captivated hip-hop enthusiasts and industry insiders alike. The event featured performances from renowned music stars such as Alonzo, Natasha Beckley, Xzu-B, Rap Juice, and Itz Amiza, whose presence added energy and support to the night’s festivities.
