The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), under the leadership of Executive Director James Bio, is set to complete the construction of vehicle fitness testing centres in Bo and Kenema through its partner, Autospec.

Following sustained pressure from the Executive Director, the company has intensified efforts to ensure the timely completion of the projects. Autospec, in a correspondence to SLRSA management, confirmed that preparations are underway to commence work, including soil testing and other key design processes, which are expected to be completed within a short timeframe.

Once completed, the vehicle fitness testing centres will be state-of-the-art facilities aimed at enhancing road safety through mandatory vehicle inspections across the country.

The initiative is expected to significantly contribute to reducing road accidents and saving lives by ensuring that only roadworthy vehicles operate on Sierra Leone’s roads.

Executive Director James Bio has remained committed to improving road safety standards nationwide. Within a relatively short period at the helm of the authority, he has recorded notable achievements focused on protecting the lives of Sierra Leoneans and strengthening the operations of the SLRSA.
