Thirty-four-year-old Alie Sesay, a security guard, has been sentenced to six months’ imprisonment by Magistrate Medissa Massaquio of Pademba Road Court No. 6 for stealing a CCTV camera valued at NLe 2,540.
Sesay was convicted on a count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 21 September 2026, at 1B Sir Samuel Lewis Road, Aberdeen, in the Western Area of Freetown, Sesay stole one CCTV camera valued at NLe 2,540, belonging to Bilal Bah.
When the charge was read and explained to him in court, Sesay pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Sergeant 1462 Amiza John, informed the court that the facts of the case were as charged and that the convict had no previous criminal record.
Sesay, who was not legally represented, pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy.
In her ruling, Magistrate Massaquio considered the convict’s guilty plea, his plea for mercy and the fact that he had saved the court’s time by admitting the offence. She subsequently sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
