A security guard, Abdul Fofanah, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown by Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1. He was charged with one count of Larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at Span View Estate in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly stole one 8.5 KVA generator valued at fifty-eight thousand Leones (Le 58,000), property belonging to Santigie M’bayo.
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police Eric A. Deen Esq., informed the court that he had served the defendant with a copy of the case file and inquiry documents.
The defendant acknowledged receipt of the documents.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. The matter was adjourned to 29 June 2026.
