Orange Money Sierra Leone has issued a public alert warning customer about the circulation of fraudulent messages and suspicious links designed to hack messaging applications and steal personal information. In some cases, scammers have attempted to trick victims’ contacts into sending money.
The company emphasized that these messages do not originate from Orange Sierra Leone or Orange Mobile Finance SL. Customers are urged to trust only verified communications from the company’s official social media pages.
Orange further advised the public to avoid clicking on suspicious links, sharing codes or one-time passwords (OTPs), downloading unknown attachments, or disclosing personal details. To enhance security, customers are encouraged to keep their apps updated, use strong passwords, and enable two-factor authentication.
For assistance or more information, Orange Sierra Leone has directed customers to call 100 and to follow its verified social media handles, including Facebook (Orange SL), Instagram (Orange_sierraleone), X (Orange_sierra), TikTok (Orangesierraleone), and LinkedIn (Orange SL).
This proactive warning underscores Orange’s commitment to safeguarding its customers against rising digital fraud and ensuring secure financial transactions across Sierra Leone.
