Fulham have confirmed that Marco Silva will step down as Head Coach this summer, bringing an end to a five-year tenure that made him one of the Premier League’s longest-serving managers.
Silva, 47, joined the Cottagers in 2021 and departs as the third longest-serving boss in the Premier League and fifth longest across the entire English Football League. His spell at Craven Cottage was marked by stability and success, including promotion back to the topflight and establishing Fulham as a competitive Premier League side.
In an open letter to supporters, Silva reflected on his time in West London. “To our fans I asked you, from day one, to always be with us. And that’s what you have done
these past five years. We achieved a lot together,” he wrote.
“My staff and I always felt your support. It will never be forgotten. Fulham will always be in my heart, and sooner or later I will be back at Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese tactician guided Fulham to the Championship title in 2021/22 before consolidating their Premier League status in subsequent seasons. His departure leaves a significant void, with the club now tasked with finding a successor to build on the foundations he laid.
Fulham issued a brief statement thanking Silva: “Thank you, Marco. ”
Silva’s exit adds him to a growing list of managerial changes ahead of the new season, as clubs across Europe reshape their dugouts. Where he goes next remains unclear, but his record at Fulham is expected to attract interest from top clubs in England and abroad.
