Newly promoted side Kahunla Rangers FC secured their first point in the league as they held Real Republicans FC to a goalless draw at the Trade Centre field on Friday.
The match started with high pressing pace from host Real Republicans FC in the first ten minutes where several chances were created in the final third but sadly unable to convert same at the back of the net.
Kahunla Rangers FC came into life after 25th minutes of play where their quintessential skipper Ibrahim Sorie Marrah failed to make use of a glorious chance outside the 18 yard box to give the away side the early lead in a tight contest match of two equals.
Sensational Michael Brima came close to take the lead for the visitors Kahunla Rangers FC deep in first half of play, but the chance was not well taken as the Real Republican FC goalkeeper did the needful by punching the ball for a corner kick.
After the break, both teams returned to the field of play with great determination as they look to snatch all three points in the match. Real Republicans winger Dennis Kamara missed couple of chances Infront of goal that could have helped Real Republicans to secure all three points.
In the 57th minutes of play Ibrahim Sorie Kamara sustained a head which he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
In 86th minute of play, Mohamed Fabi Bangura hit the woodwork twice that could have given the all-important win to the visitors – Kahunla Rangers.
The man of the match award went to injured Ibrahim Sorie Marrah and the award was received by the head Coach of Kahunla Rangers Ishmael Kallon on behalf of the recipient who is responding to treatment at the hospital.
At the Brima Attougia Mini Stadium the Champions BO Rangers FC comfortable defeated Port Authority FC by three goals to one (3-1) as Suffian Kalakoh opened scoring chats in first half and they side scored all three goals in first half.
In the second half it an affairs of the host Port Authority FC who scored in the early second half, but failed to makes use of their second half chances to level terms as it all ended three goals to one (3-1) full Time played.
