Hon. Alice Konya Sandy Provides Food Support for NPSE Pupils

The youngest Member of Parliament in Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Hon. Alice Konya Sandy Esq., has once again demonstrated her commitment to education and child welfare by providing food for pupils sitting the National Primary School Examination (NPSE) in Constituency 016, Kenema District.

The initiative, carried out on Saturday, 9th May 2026, benefited more than 800 pupils from over 36 primary schools across the constituency. The pupils sat their examinations at four major examination centres: Kaisamba Memorial School in Nekabo, Apex Secondary School in Hangha, National Islamic Primary School in Largo, and KMDEC Secondary School in Talia.

The intervention forms part of Hon. Alice Konya Sandy’s ongoing support for the education sector within her constituency, particularly in creating a conducive and comfortable environment for pupils during important public examinations.

Parents and teachers described the feeding support as timely and impactful, noting that it helped reduce the burden on families while ensuring that pupils remained focused, energetic, and motivated throughout the examination process.

Teachers, parents, community stakeholders, and the pupils themselves expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Alice Konya Sandy Esq. for what they described as a thoughtful and meaningful intervention. Many praised her as a caring leader who consistently places the welfare of children and the advancement of education at the center of her leadership priorities.

Speaking on behalf of Ansarul Islamic Primary School in Hangha, the Head Teacher, Mr. Mustapha Fabai, commended Hon. Alice Konya Sandy for her continued dedication to educational development in Constituency 016.

“This is not the first time Hon. Alice Konya Sandy has supported education in our constituency. She has consistently provided learning materials, encouraged pupils, and supported schools in various ways. Today’s gesture clearly shows that she truly values the future of our children,” Mr. Fabai stated.

Also expressing appreciation, the Head Mistress of National Islamic Primary School in Largo, Miss Wuya Gandi, described the gesture as historic and highly commendable. She explained that many parents were deeply grateful, especially as the support eased the challenge of providing meals for children during the examination period.

“This support has brought joy to parents, teachers, and pupils alike. Hon. Alice Konya Sandy has shown genuine love and concern for the welfare of these children. Providing food during the NPSE examinations is something many families deeply appreciate,” she remarked.

Parents who spoke during the exercise commended the Honourable Member of Parliament for remaining connected to the grassroots and for continuously supporting vulnerable families through practical and meaningful interventions. They also prayed for wisdom, strength, and success in her leadership journey.

The pupils themselves expressed excitement and gratitude, describing the support as memorable and encouraging during one of the most important stages of their academic journey.

Hon. Alice Konya Sandy Esq. continues to earn admiration across Constituency 016 for her youth-driven leadership, accessibility, and dedication to community development, particularly in the areas of education, youth empowerment, and social welfare.

Her latest intervention has once again reaffirmed her commitment to investing in the future of children and promoting quality education in Kenema District.
