The Holy Spirit Hospital is presently conducting a week long free of cost screening for cervical cancer patients in Makeni Bombali district Northern Sierra Leone.
This was disclosed to this medium by the deputy matron and peri-operative nurse attached to the screening team Fatmata Lamarana Jalloh.
She said the screening is targeting girls within the age bracket of eighteen and above especially women that are sexually active as the human perpeloma virus which causes cervical cancer is easily transferred during sexual intercourse.

She intimated our correspondent that the screening is targeting women with the cancer cells for treatment and regular follow up as the said cancer has at least four stages.
Fatmata Lamarana Jalloh while concluding called on both the girls and women within the aforementioned age bracket and category to make good use of such opportunity as health is wealth. Meanwhile similar screening is due across the country soonest.
