Razack Mansaray a business man on Monday, 20th January, 2025, made another appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No. on one count charge of Embezzlement -Contrary to section 17 (1) (b) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the police charge sheet that you on 22nd September, 2024 at Babadorie, Lumley in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, embezzled the sum of seventy-seven thousand four and twenty-six leones (Le77,426) received by you from James Fornah and Momoh Kamara of Abjatal Star Enterprise.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person no plea was taken.

The accused was represented by E. T Lassay. The lead prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh led in prosecution witness number two Mohamed Tarawalie who recognized the accused as his senior in the said company and he is in charge of orange money.

He recalled on 2nd September, 2024, what transferred between them when he went to check and relised that there was no money that they have used he intended to check the other branch in Aberdeen, but the accused told him not to as there was no money there too.

Mohamed echoed that the complainant wanted to called the police, but he urged him not so that he can had an engagement with them first.

He furthered that the other accused paid, but Abdul Razack started paying with twenty thousand which is very little according to him and asked for 50% instead which was not met and decided to proceed with the matter. He added that the complainant brought a police officer who apprehended the accused.

The defense counsel applied for bail on behalf of the accused stated that he is an ordinarily resident within this jurisdiction and has reliable sureties to bail him he made his application pursuant to section 79 2and 3 of the criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965

Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura refused bail based on the offence charged against the accused and sent him to the male correctional facility in Freetown the matter was adjourned to the 22nd of January, 2025, for the continuation of his trial.
