In a gripping match at the Approved Schools playing field, FC Kallon triumphed over defending champions BO Rangers FC, winning 7-6 in a dramatic penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regulation time.
The hosts, FC Kallon, started strong, moving the ball fluidly and creating threats in BO Rangers FC’s final third. However, the visitors held firm, preventing any goals in the first half.
BO Rangers missed two crucial opportunities to score, with Abu Komeh and Mohamed Lamin unable to convert their chances. The first half ended without goals, leaving both teams eager to find the net in the second half.
After the break, both sides returned with renewed determination, aiming to secure a spot in the next round of the Sierra Leone Football Association Orange FA Cup 2026. Saidu Bah of BO Rangers missed two critical chances in the final ten minutes, which could have shifted the game in their favor. However, FC Kallon’s resilient defense held strong, leading the match to penalties as per the competition rules.
FC Kallon’s head coach, Charlie Wright, praised his team’s tenacity, especially after facing a red card. He noted their composure in the shootout and emphasized the club’s goal of lifting the Orange FA Cup and representing Sierra Leone in the CAF Confederation Cup.
On the other hand, BO Rangers’ head coach, Alhaji Abadi Foray, expressed disappointment over the missed chances and the team’s lack of composure during the penalty shootout. He urged fans to rally behind the team as they shift focus to securing the Premier League title.
