Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL) has launched its 2026 Cricket 4 Good programme, targeting 30,000 new participants across 50 communities in the Western Area.
The initiative is aimed at introducing more young people to cricket through training programmes and an inter-community championship, where promising talents will be identified and developed for progression into the country’s various cricket tiers.
Under the programme, 80 development officers will be deployed in 10 groups to support the recruitment and training of participants. Each of the 50 communities is expected to provide 600 participants, bringing the overall target to 30,000 newcomers.
Last year, CSL targeted 6,000 participants across 10 communities as part of its grassroots development efforts, building on the successes recorded through its Women’s Cricket Programme.
The latest initiative further highlights the growing development of cricket in Sierra Leone, with the sport continuing to expand its reach and attract young talents across the country.
