A 24-year-old photographer, Jusu Karim Kpaka, has been discharged by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 in Freetown in connection with an alleged dwelling house larceny case.

Kpaka had been charged with larceny in a dwelling house, contrary to Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act, 1916.

According to the charge sheet, the alleged offence occurred on April 25, 2026, at No. 5 Lisk Drive, Hill Station, in the Western Area of Freetown.

The prosecution alleged that Kpaka stole a brown bag valued at Le300, an Apple iPad valued at Le1,500, a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone valued at Le9,000, US$200, and Le11,000 in cash, all belonging to Aminata Jimmy. The total value of the allegedly stolen property was estimated at Le29,000, in addition to the US$200.

During the proceedings, Magistrate Fornah ruled that the case be dismissed for want of prosecution, pursuant to Section 95 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 2024, after the prosecution failed to proceed with the matter.

Consequently, the court discharged the accused, bringing the proceedings to a close.
