Bo Rangers FC have been crowned 2026 SLFA Unity Cup champions after defeating East End Lions FC 2-1 in a thrilling final in Bo.

New signing Abdul Bangura scored both goals for Bo Rangers, including a late winner in added time that ended East End Lions’ hopes of taking the match to a penalty shootout.

Bo Rangers coach John Dominic Konneh praised his players for their hard work, saying his passing and attacking philosophy is gradually taking shape. He also expressed confidence that the team can win more trophies with continued support from their fans.

Winger Abdul Bangura, who made the difference for Rangers, described the victory as a result of teamwork and motivation ahead of the new season. He said he is targeting more goals and assists during his first season with the club.

East End Lions coach Patrick Bangura said his side dominated much of the match but were unlucky to lose. He attributed the defeat to defensive errors and maintained that the Leone Rock Premier League remains the club’s main target.

The Unity Cup final served as a dress rehearsal for the 2026/27 Leone Rock Premier League campaign, with both teams now turning their attention to the league season.

East End Lions will begin their league campaign at home against Ports Authority FC, while Bo Rangers will host newly promoted Freetown United FC at the Southern Arena Stadium.

Bo Rangers will be hoping to build on their Unity Cup triumph by securing a winning start to their league campaign in front of their home fans.
