The Bo District Council has marked the third anniversary of Chairman Victor Kosseh Hindowa’s tenure, highlighting key development interventions undertaken by the Council over the past three years.
The anniversary celebration was held on Thursday, September 25, 2026, during the 38th Ordinary Council Meeting of the Fifth Council of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The event brought together council officials, government representatives, development partners, traditional authorities and other stakeholders to reflect on the Council’s achievements under the leadership of Chairman Hindowa.
The programme commenced with a cultural dance performance, which ushered Chairman Hindowa into the conference hall amid applause from stakeholders and well-wishers.
This was followed by speeches and goodwill messages from the Provincial Secretary South, who represented the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, the Resident Minister South and other stakeholders.
Presenting the purpose of the gathering, the Chief Administrator of the Bo District Council, Madam Vivian Sallay Senesie, described the programme as a two-fold initiative aimed at recognizing the Council’s achievements and reflecting on its development interventions over the past three years.
Madam Senesie commended the Chairman’s leadership and reaffirmed her support for the administration as it continues to pursue its development objectives for the people of Bo District.
She also emphasized the importance of collaboration among council officials, government institutions, development partners and communities in translating development plans into tangible results.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Victor Kosseh Hindowa outlined key development interventions undertaken by the Council during his three years in office.
He highlighted efforts to strengthen agricultural trade and improve market access across the district, noting that the construction and rehabilitation of bridges and culverts had formed an important part of the Council’s interventions.
According to Chairman Hindowa, improved road connectivity and access to communities are essential to the movement of agricultural produce, people and services, particularly in farming communities.
He subsequently presented a breakdown of the Council’s development interventions over the past three years, describing the presentation as a scorecard of his administration’s work since assuming office.
Chairman Hindowa also acknowledged the contributions of development partners and other institutions that have supported the Council’s programmes and projects.
He expressed appreciation for their support and appealed to other development-oriented institutions to partner with the Council in addressing the development needs of communities across the district.
Chairman Hindowa further disclosed that the commissioning of the European Union-funded hostel project at Torwama, Njala Campus, is expected to take place soon.
He said the project forms part of the development interventions aimed at supporting education and improving facilities within the district.
Stakeholders at the anniversary celebration commended Chairman Hindowa for his leadership and the development initiatives undertaken during his three-year tenure.
They encouraged the Bo District Council to maintain its engagement with development partners, government institutions, communities and other stakeholders to sustain ongoing projects and identify additional opportunities for development.
They also called for continued collaboration and collective responsibility in addressing the district’s infrastructure, agricultural, educational and other development needs.
The anniversary celebration provided an opportunity for the Council to reflect on its achievements, acknowledge the contributions of its partners and reaffirm its commitment to advancing development across Bo District.
