The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) First Division League came to a dramatic conclusion on Sunday, June 21, at the Bo Coronation Field, as Premier Academy FC produced a stunning 2–1 victory over already-crowned champions Ram Kamara FC in the final match of the season.
In an entertaining encounter, Premier Academy FC delivered one of the biggest surprises of the campaign by defeating the champions, who had remained unbeaten throughout the season until this match. The result marked Ram Kamara FC’s only defeat of the league season.
Despite the loss, Ram Kamara FC maintained their position at the top of the table, finishing as league champions with 40 points, thanks to their consistent performances throughout the season.
However, the spotlight on the final day belonged to Premier Academy FC, who showed determination and quality to overcome the champions. The victory lifted them to 37 points, securing second place on the table after overtaking Imperi Foundation FC in the final standings.
The win not only ended Ram Kamara FC’s impressive unbeaten run but also confirmed Premier Academy FC’s qualification for the SLFA National Play-Offs, where both teams will represent the Southern Region in the next stage of the competition.
Premier Academy FC Season Summary: Premier Academy FC concluded the season with a strong record, playing 17 matches: 11 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses.
They scored 35 goals and conceded 11, finishing with a +24-goal difference, one of the best attacking and defensive records in the league.
Their strong finish, highlighted by the decisive victory over Ram Kamara FC, reflects their growing confidence and readiness for national competition.
The conclusion of the SRFA First Division League sets up an exciting national playoff campaign, with both Ram Kamara FC and Premier Academy FC carrying the Southern Region’s hopes forward after a season defined by competitiveness and a dramatic final-day showdown.
