Defending champions Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, September 6, maintaining their perfect start to the 2026-27 Premier League season.

Arsenal entered the London derby at the top of the table, while Chelsea arrived under new manager Xabi Alonso with two wins from their opening two matches. The result leaves Arsenal and Manchester City as the only teams with a 100 percent record after three games.

Chelsea stunned the home crowd just 77 seconds into the match when Morgan Rogers volleyed the visitors into an early lead.

Arsenal responded in the 25th minute, with Kai Havertz finding the net from Declan Rice’s assisting to level the score before half-time.

Five minutes into the second half, Arsenal completed the comeback when Captain Martin Ødegaard finished after a clever dummy from Havertz and an assist from Christos Tzolis.

Chelsea pushed for an equalizer late in the match, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya made a crucial save to deny Estêvão and preserve the victory.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Tzolis for his work rate, describing the winger’s performance as “unreal again.”

The victory takes Arsenal to nine points, level with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, while extending their unbeaten run against Chelsea to 12 matches.

Chelsea’s first defeat under Alonso leaves them on six points after three games.
