A 21-year-old shoemaker, Anthony Sahr Koroma, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown after appearing before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a charge of housebreaking and larceny.
Koroma is facing one count of housebreaking and larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, the accused allegedly, on Monday 20 April 2026 at Smith Drive, Leicester Village, in the Western Area of Freetown, with intent to steal, broke into and entered the dwelling house of Salamatu Mansaray.
It is alleged that he stole one 52-inch plasma television, an Apple computer, and other assorted items, with a total value of Le68,000, belonging to Salamatu Mansaray.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken because the matter is being handled as a committal proceeding.
During the hearing, the prosecutor, DPC 17649 Brima Kargbo, informed the court that he had served the accused with copies of the case file and inquiry documents.
The accused acknowledged receipt of the documents.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah refused bail and ordered that Koroma be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
The matter has been adjourned to 30 July 2026 for further hearing.
