A 23-year-old man, Solomon Nyakeh of 4 Gwent Heights, off Hill Cut Road, Freetown, has appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 2 on a charge of larceny in a dwelling house.

Nyakeh is charged under Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused allegedly entered the dwelling house of Sahr Foday Kpakima at Gwent Heights, off Hill Cut Road, Freetown, on 7 May 2026 with intent to steal.

He is accused of stealing one Samsung Galaxy S21 FE mobile phone, valued at Le10,000, which was the property of the complainant.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken because the matter is before the court as a committal proceeding.

During the hearing, the prosecutor, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sorie Conteh, informed the court that the complainant was absent. He applied for a subpoena to be issued and served on the prosecution witness to compel his attendance at the next hearing.

Magistrate John Manso Fornah granted the application and adjourned the matter to 29 July 2026 for further hearing.
