SLFA Appoint John Edward Keister as Caretaker Coach

The Sierra Leone Football Association has confirmed the appointment of its Technical Director John Keister as caretaker Head Coach for the National Men’s Team Leone Stars.

The former Leone Stars Coach’s appointment is specifically for the Leone Stars’s upcoming friendly outings against neighbouring Liberia in the FIFA international friendly window, the football governing body says.

Keister will be assisted by Alhaji Foray and Mohamed Lamin Kamara as Assistant Coaches 1&2 respectively.

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone are going into these two friendly matches as the Nations National Team Kick-off preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 Qualifiers that start in September 2026.

Sierra Leone National Team Leone Stars will be using these matches to identify players before the Qualifiers start properly and the players called up will be a better place to represent their birthplace Sierra Leone in the project 2027 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Sierra Leone National Team Leone Stars is alongside Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea and DR Congo in group E, some of these Nations are busy into international Friendly matches during this FIFA international Window.
