A 31-year-old mason, Santigie Sesay, has made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on one count of larceny in a dwelling house, contrary to Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, on 7 November 2025 at Upper George Brook, Dwarzark Farm in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendant allegedly broke and entered the dwelling house of Mariama Bangura with intent to steal.
He is accused of stealing one blue Samsung A13 mobile phone valued at Le 3,500 and one white Apple iPad, with a combined total value of Le 9,000, property of Mariama Bangura.
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa led prosecution witness number one, Mariama Bangura, who identified the defendant in court. She testified that on 7 November 2025, the defendant was at her residence in the evening when she later discovered that both the mobile phone and the iPad were missing after her grandmother instructed her to retrieve the phone.
Following the testimony, the prosecution requested a short adjournment to continue proceedings.
Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence, and ordered that the defendant be remanded. The matter was adjourned to 7 May 2026 for further hearing.
