A 34-year-old unemployed man, Abdul Rahman Kargbo, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a one-count charge of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Mamah Lane, Sorie Town, Gloucester Village in the Western Area Rural District, the accused allegedly stole six thousand eight hundred United States dollars (US$6,800), equivalent to Le 161,160, property of Catherine Hawa Kekura.

When the charge was read and explained in court, the defendant pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Mabel M. Trawallie, informed the court that the prosecution had served the defendant with a bundle of witness statements.

Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to April 30, 2026, for further hearing.
