Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Friday, 20th February 2025, joined hundreds of Muslims at the Pujehun Central Mosque for the first Jummah prayer of the holy month of Ramadan.
His presence at the congregational prayer underscored the deep spiritual significance he attaches to the sacred month, which calls for reflection, sacrifice, and renewed devotion among Muslims.
Upon his arrival in Pujehun District, the Vice President was received with a Quarter Guard mounted by the 14 Infantry Battalion.
Arriving at the mosque ahead of the Khutbah (sermon), Dr. Jalloh exchanged warm greetings with elders, community leaders, and young worshippers before taking his place among the congregation.
As the Imam delivered a sermon centered on patience, unity, and compassion virtues that define Ramadan the Vice President joined the jammah (congregation) in prayer, observing the solemnity that marks the first Friday of the fasting period.
In his brief remarks after the prayer, the Vice President encouraged citizens to embrace peace, tolerance, and charity throughout the month.
He urged Sierra Leoneans to use Ramadan as a time to strengthen family ties, support the less privileged, and pray for continued stability and development in the country.
He also asked the congregation to continue remembering His Excellency Julius Maada Bio in their prayers, seeking divine guidance and wisdom for the nation’s leadership.
Dr. Jalloh’s participation in the first Jummah prayer of Ramadan in Pujehun highlighted both his personal commitment to faith and his continued engagement with grassroots communities, reinforcing the unifying spirit that characterizes the holy month.
