In a decisive demonstration of commitment to party growth and institutional stability, the Chief Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, on Saturday, 7 February 2026, donated seven thousand five hundred United States dollars (US$7,500) to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Bo District leadership.
The funds were formally presented to the SLPP Bo District Chairman to fully settle the party’s office rent for 2026, amounting to US$7,000, and to clear outstanding arrears of US$500, bringing the total contribution to US$7,500.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Sengeh emphasized that it is the collective responsibility of committed party stalwarts particularly those entrusted with positions in governance to respond promptly to the immediate and practical needs of the party.
“The strength of our party depends not only on rhetoric but on tangible support,” he said, urging party leaders at all levels to demonstrate loyalty through action.
Addressing concerns over the current condition of the SLPP district office located along Hospital Road in Bo City, the Chief Minister reassured party executives of Government’s commitment to completing the long-awaited ultra-modern SLPP Bo District office complex. He disclosed that His Excellency the President, during a high-level ministerial meeting, had specifically tasked him and other senior stakeholders to ensure the project is completed without further delay.
Receiving the cash support, the SLPP Bo District Chairman and Deputy Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs, Hon. Buakai Bindi Hindowa, expressed profound gratitude to the Chief Minister, describing the gesture as timely and historic.
“This contribution will remain etched in the history of the SLPP in Bo District,” Chairman Hindowa said, assuring party members that the funds would be used strictly for their intended purpose. He further pledged to formally brief His Excellency the President on the development and the renewed momentum towards completing the district party office.
In a related show of solidarity, former SLPP Regional Chairman, Mr. Joseph Maada Kpulum, also made a significant contribution by donating one thousand (1,000) bags of cement to support the completion of the project.
The combined interventions by party leaders have been widely welcomed by party members and supporters, who view the gestures as a renewed commitment to strengthening the SLPP’s institutional presence in the Southern Region.
