The handover ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Freetown, underscored China’s commitment to enhancing Sierra Leone’s diplomatic operational capacity.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Ambassador Wang Qing emphasized that the donation represents not just material support but a steadfast commitment to Sierra Leone’s institutional effectiveness. He praised the Ministry’s critical role in maintaining and advancing foreign relations and affirmed China’s ongoing dedication to their mutual partnership.

He reiterated his eagerness to deepen cooperation across both bilateral and multilateral platforms, ensuring mutual progress and prosperity.

Reflecting on historical milestones, Minister Kabba highlighted China’s enduring contributions to Sierra Leone, from iconic infrastructures like the National Stadium and Youyi Building to essential assistance during the Ebola and COVID-19 health crises. He also noted the expanding collaboration across academia, scientific innovation, defense, and trade as clear indicators of a dynamic and evolving partnership.
