The Honourable Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, alongside Sports Development Officer, Lic Momodu Alpha on Monday officially attended the opening of the II International Sports Fair today in a grand ceremony that underscored Cuba’s continued commitment to sporting excellence. The event was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting, symbolising the nation’s strides in sports development and innovation.
The Sports Fair serves as a platform to showcase Cuba’s advancements in sports science, technology, research, equipment, and talent development, as well as the country’s remarkable achievements on the international stage, including at the Olympics, World Championships, and Continental Games.
During her opening remarks, Minister James-Teima highlighted the significance of investing in sports, stating, “This fair is a testament to Cuba’s dedication to advancing sports through research, technology, and talent development. It reflects our commitment to excellence and our drive to achieve even greater success in global competitions.”
The Sports Development Officer also praised the event’s role in fostering collaboration among sports professionals, emphasising the importance of knowledge exchange and innovation in shaping the future of Cuban sports.
With athletes, researchers, and industry experts in attendance, the II International Sports Fair set to be a defining moment in the country’s sporting development, reinforcing Cuba’s position as a leader in the global sports arena.
