Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 has refused bail to shop assistant Abu Bakarr Fornah, who is facing an allegation of stealing NLe30, 000 belonging to his employer, Fatu Bangura.
According to the particulars of the offence, on 31 August 2026, at No. 14 Malama Thomas Street, Western Area, Freetown, Fornah, being a servant employed by Fatu Bangura, allegedly stole the sum of NLe30,000, property of the said Fatu Bangura.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken, as the matter is being handled as committal proceedings.
The prosecution, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sorie Conteh, informed the court that the accused had been served with a copy of the case and the inquiry file.
Magistrate Fornah subsequently refused bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence, and remanded the accused at the Male Correctional Centre.
The matter was adjourned to 25 September 2026.
