Police Testifies In FBC Lecturer’s Murder Trial

Detective ASP Alie Jalloh on 16th August 2023 narrated in court before magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No1 as to how he discovered the remains of former FBC Lecturer Kabba Santigie Bangura at the resident of the accused Ibrahim M Kalokoh.

The accused arraigned on preliminary investigation on one count of murder contrary to law.

According to the police file, the on Monday 6th March 2023, at Shebra town Waterloo murder Kabba Santigie Bangura.

Led in evidence by Inspector Sellu TAP Detective ASP Alie Jalloh said he is attached to the Waterloo police division as the information officer and recognized the accused and further recalled 6th March 2023.

The witness said on the aforementioned date, he received information from the community people about an awful smell coming from the resident of the accused, adding that base on the information received and that upon the help of the community people they went to the resident of the accused.

He said upon their arrival at the house they were led to one of the rooms where they saw a grave inside the house.  According to him, they dug the grave where they discovered the remains of the deceased.

”I took photos of the remains and posted it on social media, based on what I did,  the wife together with relative of the deceased came to the Waterloo police division in respect of the photos”, he stated.

 LUC Brima Sama of Waterloo police division, the wife, relatives of the deceased together with the team of police officers visited the scene; he said upon their arrival at the scene, the wife of the deceased was able to identify the clothes on the deceased as her husband.

At this juncture, the police prosecutor Inspector Sellu asked the witness whether he will be able to identify the clothes he replied in the affirmative.

The prosecutor however showed a black plastic containing the clothes which the witness identified as the clothes that was found on the remains of the deceased.

In conclusion, the witness said he handed over the accused to the CID HQ for further investigation.

At this stage the prosecutor requested an adjournment for the exhibits clerk to tender the said exhibit.

His application was however granted by magistrate Mark Ngegba and the matter was adjourned to the 23August 2023 for further hearing. The accused person was sent to the male correctional center in Freetown.
