Alleged Fraudster Granted Le 20m Bail

Alieu Jalloh a businessman made another appearance before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Pademba road court No.6 in Freetown and was granted twenty million Leone (old notes) bail for allegedly Obtaining money by false pretences contrary to the Laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the particulars of the offence on the 27th of August 2022 at Kissy Brook the western area in Freetown with intent to defraud obtained the sum of nine thousand five hundred new Leones (9,500) from Santigie Conteh by falsely pretending that he has three rooms and parlour house to rent knowing same to be false.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty.

Since there was no witness present, Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident in the western area in Freetown sureties to produce valid identity card and valid business registration Bail to be approved by the Bench.

The matter was adjourned to the 10th of July 2023, while Deputy Superintendent of Police Marie Sesay is prosecuting the matter.
