Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 has on Friday 18th November 2022, remanded Noah Tarawallie and Mohamed Sesay for alleged possession of Cannabis Sativa and Kush.
Prior to their remanding, the accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charges were read and explained to them.
The first accused, Noah Tarawallie was arraigned in court on two count charges of unlawful possession of Cannabis Sativa contrary to Section 48(1) of the Pharmacy and Drugs Act of 2001 whilst the second accused, Mohamed Sesay was arraigned in court on a count charge of unlawful possession of Kush contrary to Section 48(1) of the Pharmacy and Drugs Act of 2001.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused, Tarawalie, on Wednesday 2nd of November, 2022, at No. 4 Quicker Lane, Kissy, Freetown, in the Freetown Judicial District, the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of 170 wraps of Cannabis Sativa contained in a black plastic bag weighing 315.6 grams without lawful authority.
On the same date, at the same place, was found in possession of loosed quantity of Cannabis Sativa in a black plastic bag weighing 56.0 grams without lawful authority.
Also, police alleged that the second accused, Mohamed Sesay, on Wednesday the 2nd day of November, 2022, at No. 2 College Road, Cline Town, Freetown, in the Freetown Judicial District, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of 28 wraps of Kush contained in a white plastic bag weighing 5.3 grams without lawful authority.
M. Golfa Esq is representing the 1st accused; A. I. Barrie Esq and S.M. Esq Gbongboto are representing the 2nd accused whilst ASP I. S. Mansaray is prosecuting the matter.
The matter was adjourned to the 21st of November, 2022, for further hearing.
