25yrs old Ann-Marie Fofanah made her first appearance before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on one count charge to wit Fraudulent conversion Contrary to Section 20 (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on date unknown between 1st September to 31st December 2021 at Makeni the Bombali Shebora Chiefdom the Northern Province in Freetown Fraudulently converted to her own use and benefit certain property that is to say three hundred and twenty seven cartoons of frozen fish value eighty eight thousand Leones (88,000,00) entrusted to her by Mary Alie for the purpose of sale.
The charge was read and explained to the accused person and she pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused person A.Bah applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that she is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that she has credible sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognizance on her behalf she is not a flight risk nor will she interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses he made his application pursuant to section 79 3 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Main while Magistrate Ngegba granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum sureties to be resident within this jurisdiction one surety to be employed bail to be approved by the Deputy assistant Registrar Matter adjourned to the 29th November 2022 for further hearing Sergeant Dwight Macarthy prosecuting the Matter.
