The Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin engaged representatives of the National Scrabble Association on the 9th May, 2022. In that meeting the reps of the Association stated their challenges as it relates to support for the Maiden West Africa Scrabble championship to be held in Accra, Ghana on May 16-19.
Dr Gilpin assured the Association that his institution will support their course with 3 return Air tickets and that the Bank will also pay the Country’s Registration fee of $ 200 to take Part in the Championship. Mr. Christian Asgill, President of the National Scrabble Association of Sierra Leone (NSASL) remarked that he is very pleased with the bank’s intervention, because his Association needed this help at this crucial time, especially when this is the first lucky break the Association has had since it started this quest to get its players to compete in the Championship in Ghana.
