Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Ambassador Sadiq Silla has on the 14th April,2022 engaged the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Cairo, Ambassador Shebba Shumbayawanda in strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During a meeting at the Zimbabwean Embassy, the two leaders discussed access to political, social, and economic collaboration stressing the need for common trading activities between the two countries.
In his statement, Ambassador Shebba Shumbayawanda praised Sierra Leone for the efforts and assistance rendered to Zimbabwe during the liberation of Rhodesia adding that the good bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries will maximize interests and efforts to achieve integration in different sectors.
Ambassador Sadiq Silla on the other hand noted that Sierra Leone attaches great importance to maintaining relations with Zimbabwe on the basis of friendship and cooperation. He explained that His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio has prioritized Free Quality Education and Human Capital Development under his New Direction Agenda adding that the government of Sierra Leone is always committed to working with others in that direction.
“Our engagement today is to have a common understanding for effective collaboration,” he concluded.
