Paramount Chief Jonathan Bakie Kabakaba Tucker III Gbap, Nongoba Bullum Chiefdom, Bonthe district has on the 30th March declared dead and has been laid to rest.
During the funeral Service held at the Jesus Christ of Latter days Saints, his Excellency President Julius Maada Bio delivered a solemn speach of encouragement to his surviving family members and friends. Amongst the many things mentioned by His Excellency, was the developmental strides made for his chiefdom during his reign, he described him as a developmentally oriented personality.
He said such leadership is worth emulating and that if every chiefdom leader focuses on developing its people and township the country will be a better place for all.
Whereas, the Chief Minster Jacob Jusu Saffa being a relative said he knew the late P.C to be a disciplinarian both in his chiefdom and family. He said over the years the late traditional leader showered love, care and concern for his subjects and has always stood by them in thick and thin.
Several other dignitaries delivered consoling tributes dilating on a well spent life.
The Late P.C Kabakaba Tucker III was born on the 15th July 1972 to the union of late PC Jonathan Bakie Kabakaba Tucker II, and Madam Luicia Yeamie
Tucker.
He attended the FBC experimented primary school at Fourah Bay, and later proceeded to the UMC Primary School Njagboima where he completed his primary education.
He did his Secondary School education at the Christ the king College (CKC) Bo where he completed his high school in 1990.
In 1991 during Sierra Leone’s civil conflict led by Revolutionary United front (RUF), the late chief travelled to Liberia where he managed a private security firm before being gainfully employed by the Sierra Leone Embassy in Liberia as Aid de Camp to the former ambassador, Doctor Kemoh Salia Gbaw from 1999 to 2001.
After his contract was terminated in 2003, PC Jonathan Kabakaba Tucker continued as a private business man in Liberia until he finally returned to Sierra Leone in 2007 to contest for the Nongoba Bullom paramount Chieftaincy.
After his land slide election victory in 2010 he undertook massive developmental programmes in Nongoba Bullom Chiefdom.
His prime focus was to boost education in his chiefdom. He built primary and secondary schools and facilitated the construction of a modern hospital in Gbap to cater for the entire chiefdom. He also lobbied for the installation of solar street lights in Gbap and other towns in his chiefdom, and many more.
Due to his achievement, he was compensated by his colleague paramount Chiefs for his astute work by electing his as chairman Council of Paramount Chiefs of Bonthe district, and as PC representative in the National Council of Paramount Chiefs.
P.C KabaKaba Tucker III was survived by his wife, Michaela Agnes Tucker and Eight (8) children; Kemoh, Brima Mukeh, Blessing, Princess. Peter, Munje Janet, Jonathan Tucker, Rose.
He was also survived by his Mothers Lucia Tucker and sisters Tafoa Tucker, Tajo, Hawa and Susan.
