The Erstwhile Executive Director of the SLRSA Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh has on the 1st February, 2022 handed over the mantle of leadership and administrative portfolio to the newly appointed Executive Director of the SLRSA Rev. Smart K. Senesie at the Authority’s headquartering Kissy Road Freetown.

The handing over comes weeks after the renowned Clergyman was appointed by His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio on January 11, 2022 replacing Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh, the erstwhile Executive Director was pleased to inform the new Executive Director that, during his tenure as ED, the revenue generation of the Authority was increased by 23%.He furthered that,  the Authority was able to introduce the re-categorization of Motor Vehicles, introduction of the first ever digitalized vehicle records cards and was also able to meet the ECOWAS protocol by introducing the QR code number plates for motor vehicles.

Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh noted that, germain among his successes was the introduction of the Biometric Driver’s License, completion of the Milton Margai lease and fencing of the land. All these could not have been achieved without support from management and staff of the Authority, Mr. Sannoh noted.

The Erstwhile Executive Director espoused that, in October last year the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority successfully hosted the West Africa Regional Safety Organization [WARSO] regional summit and Sierra Leone was voted Secretary General of the organization a position he says the new Executive Director will assume at WARSO. Mr. Sannoh called on the new ED to improve on the Authority’s fourteen [14] acre land at Mamama Koya Chiefdom in the Port Loko District to introduce the first ever drive range facility in Sierra Leone, this he said was learnt from a bilateral visit the SLRSA made to Nigeria last year and a lot of scholarship opportunities were offered to the Road Safety Corps by the Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria.

Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh on behalf of himself thanked the Board, Management and Staff of the SLRSA for the support they gave him while in office.

The new Executive Director, Rev. Smart Senesie stated that, he was not only perplexed but was pleased with the much highlighted successes of his predecessor and promised that, the Authority will organize a perfect send off for Mr. Sannoh during the next retreat of the Authority.

Rev. Smart on behalf of the Board, Management and Staff thanked Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh for his services to not only the SLRSA but the nation of Sierra Leone.

James Baggie Bio, Deputy Executive Director expressed his appreciation to have worked with the erstwhile Executive Director and wished him well in his next endeavor.
