The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) on Monday, October 19, 2026, unveiled three mobile licensing vehicles aimed at improving service delivery, promoting transparency and bringing vehicle licensing services closer to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and the general public.
The vehicles were unveiled ahead of the MDA League match as part of the Authority’s efforts to make licensing services more accessible and efficient.
The initiative, under the leadership of SLRSA Executive Director James Bagie Bio, aligns with President Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Game Changers, particularly the fifth pillar, Transforming the Public Service Architecture, which focuses on improving efficiency, professionalism, accountability and public service delivery.
Under the initiative, MDAs are encouraged to renew licences for their vehicle fleets through the mobile licensing stations without paying additional service charges. The official fees for vehicle and driver’s licence renewals will be displayed prominently on the vehicles to ensure that customers are aware of the authorized charges.
The SLRSA has reiterated that it does not charge emergency or facilitation fees for its licensing services. The Authority has urged the public to avoid unauthorized payments and seek assistance only from uniformed SLRSA staff displaying valid identification cards.
It also emphasised that all payments must be made through authorized channels to help prevent fraud and protect customers from exploitation.
The measures form part of the Authority’s broader efforts to curb licensing fraud, strengthen institutional accountability and restore public confidence in its services.
For enquiries and feedback, members of the public can contact the SLRSA’s automated WhatsApp service on +232 30 844 844. Complaints can also be directed to +232 80 879 753.
Additionally, Africell and Orange subscribers can reach the Authority through its toll-free line on 844.
The unveiling of the three mobile licensing vehicles is intended to improve access to licensing services while reinforcing the SLRSA’s commitment to transparency, accountability and customer-focused public service delivery.
