The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), in partnership with FIFA, has concluded its first-ever elite training workshop for goalkeeping coaches, aimed at strengthening technical capacity in the country.

The five-day programme brought together 16 former goalkeepers from Premier League clubs and regional divisions and was facilitated by FIFA experts Alejandro Alex Heredia and Cameron Cammy Cox.

At the closing ceremony, SLFA President Babadi Kamara commended participants and organizers for a successful training, stressing the importance of continuous capacity building in football development.

He noted that specialized coaching, particularly in goalkeeping, is essential to raising the standard of the game nationally and encouraged participants to apply and share the knowledge gained across their clubs and communities.

The SLFA boss also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working closely with FIFA to deliver more impactful training programmes.

‘This is just the beginning. We will continue to invest in our people, empower our coaches, and create opportunities that will shape the future of Sierra Leone football,” he said.
