Sierra Leone Wins against the Gambia

 Sierra Leone Senior National team Leone Stars has on Saturday 9th October 2021 defeated the Scorpions of Gambia in an international friendly match at the El Jadida Stadium in Morocco on Saturday 9th October, 2021.

Sierra Leone came from a goal behind to secure and equalizer a goal scored by Kei Kamara in the 25th minutes of play in the first half and in the 42nd minutes of play Saidu Fofanah the who plays for local club FC Kallon scored the winning goal that help Leone Stars to secure their first friendly match win away from home. 

The Scorpions of   Gambia took the lead in the 22nd minutes of play but could not hold to the lead as Kei Kamara scored in the 25th of play to level terms, this is the second defeats of the Gambia as they lost their first match against the Morocco home base side by seven goals to two and they have two out two in their three Friendlies the next match will be against South Sudan while Sierra Leone will face the Morocco home base side on the 12th October 2021.

John Keister the head coach of Leone Stars before the team departs for Morocco said the three Friendlies matches is not for the results but to identify players going to the AFCON in Cameroon Yaoundé in January 2022.

Sierra Leone will play other   Friendly matches in November before the team departs for camping out of Sierra Leone as confirmed by  Vice President one of the SLFA, Harold Nat Johnson.
