The head coach of the Sierra Leone U-20 Female team, Fatmata Turay, has officially invited 27 players to train ahead of the upcoming Mano River Union (MRU) Female Tournament.
This highly anticipated tournament will feature three participating nations: Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone. It is scheduled to take place in Makeni City from December 2nd to December 8th, 2024.
The training is set to commence on Friday, November 22, 2024, at SLFA Academy. The reporting time is 3:00 pm
The Sierra National U20 team last out on the International stage and secured their first against Mauritania.
The match was intensely contested, with both teams displaying strong defensive tactics. Despite numerous efforts, the game ended in favor of Sierra Leone.
Two goals from Kadiatu M. Kamara and Juliet Brima in the 41st and 43rd minutes were enough for the Sierra Queens to secure their win in the WAFU Women’s Opener.
Sierra Leone’s skipper, Kadiatu M. Kamara, won the woman of the match award after an impressive performance with a lone goal to help Sierra Leone edge their opponent.
This result allowed Sierra Leone to maintain their position in the table with three points and two goals. The team’s solid performance in their first match showcased their determination and competitiveness in the ongoing International Competition.
